This is a museum quality reproduction of an extinct genus of bird Calciavis grandei from the Eocene Period (50 million years) of the Green River Formation of Wyoming, USA. Certain fossils are just too costly and some are one-of-a-kind specimens that can only be viewed at museums. This fossil reproduction is a sculpture taken directly from the actual fossil. The specimen measures 196mm long.
