This is a carefully worked bifacial Mesolithic grey flint Axe Head, c.7000 B.C. The artefact is fresh and sharp with minimal abrasion or post-depositional edge damage. The axe head was discovered close to Norwich, Norfolk. Provenance: Old Norfolk Collection, collected during 1960s. The artefact is in very fine condition and measures 123mm long.
